Many parents who have done their research well and believe they've bought the best possible baby stroller within their budget can feel proud of their accomplishment.
Traveling around town with a child becomes much more convenient with a stroller and it's hard to live life as a parent without one.
But no matter how much you paid for a stroller and how distinguished the brand is, a stroller isn't a tank and a few safety tips and warnings should be followed.
Buckle the Seat Belt
Kids don't always sit quietly in place. It's in their nature to squirm or try to escape. A child can fall or slide out if he isn't strapped in. A child tray isn't a substitute for a safety belt. Make sure the safety beat is buckled.
Set the Brakes
Without the brakes set, a stroller can easily roll away especially down a hill. Set the brakes when parked whether on flat or sloping ground.
Don't Store Too Many Items
Trays and baskets on a stroller are convenient features.
However, overloading them can cause a stroller to become unstable and uneven weight distribution can cause a stroller to tip over. Don't exceed the manufacturer's maximum weight recommendation.Check Parts for Wear and Tear
Many strollers appear to be tough, but there's bound to be some weakest link that needs attention such as a worn fastener or frail strap. Examine the entire stroller from top to bottom inside and out from time to time.
Other Safety Tips and Warnings
Make sure the stroller is fully opened before a child is placed into the stroller. When folding a stroller, make sure a child is a safe distance away. Don't let your child play with the stroller. It's not a toy.
